Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Sunnyvale is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Sunnyvale is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

★★★★★ I had a great experience with Patrick at World Mufflers. I brought in my 2019 Dodge Durango R/T to have a Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust installed, and Patrick immediately noticed that the previous exhaust system had been welded on crooked, had multiple broken welds, and was even rubbing against the bumper. Instead of just throwing the new system on, Patrick took the time to make sure everything was positioned correctly and fabricated what was needed to give the new exhaust proper clearance. He explained what he found with the old system and kept me informed throughout the installation. The finished product looks great, the tips are nicely aligned, and most importantly, the Durango sounds amazing. I really appreciate the attention to detail and the fact that Patrick worked around the problems left by the previous exhaust installation. Great workmanship, fair price, and excellent service. I would definitely recommend Patrick and World Mufflers for exhaust work.

My previous shop installed a new exhaust on my car 3 months ago but somehow was not able to align the muffler pipes correctly, so it was skewed to the right side, rubbing on the rear bumper. Spoke to Pat so I could have him take a look at it. First of all, very nice guy, took the time to explain everything in how to align things correctly with my new exhaust. After 1.5hrs. Pat was able to PERFECTLY and i mean PERFECTLY align it so it's centered appropriately within the exhaust bumper cutout. I can't say enough good things about Pat and his shop. Many thanks again for helping me out! Highly recommended! -Lester from NJ w the 2001 Audi S4

Patrick (owner) is great to work with. My catalytic converter got stolen and Patrick was incredibly helpful in getting my car fixed at a reasonable price. As others mentioned, Patrick does not waste your time with needless up-sell. He was super accommodating in installing an aftermarket CARB-compliant catalytic converter for me that I bought on the internet. He saved me a ton of money from using the OEM version. Signage for World Muffler is really hard to see from El Camino. The business is in shared lot with many other independent mechanics. World Muffler is in the back corner of the shared parking lot.

My catalytic converter was partially sawed off during an attempted theft. I had my vehicle towed over to World Mufflers in the evening and I dropped my keys in the dropbox. Pat was able to repair my exhaust system with a sleeve over the cut off pipe and I had my car back by lunchtime the following day. Pat was very professional and the pricing was very reasonable for the repair. I highly recommend Pat for all your exhaust system needs!
